Over the years, the world--‐famous Moulin Rouge has provided spectators with sumptuous displays full of feathers, rhinestones and sequins, fabulous settings, original music and the most beautiful girls the world has to offer.
Set against the colourful famed French cabaret in Paris during the 1890s, the story follows the budding romance between an artist and a young dancer lured to the city. Thanks in part to the popularity of Baz Luhrmann’s highly successful 2001 film, this high--‐kicking, passionate story of love, ambition and heartbreak is one that resonates with audiences across the globe.
The production is performed by Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet and was directed by the Grammy Award--‐winning brothers, Pierre and Francois Lamoureux
